Tennis Matches Rescheduled

The Muhlenberg softball and baseball teams returned from Easter recess to find their games rained out.

The softball doubleheader at Messiah was rescheduled for Thursday, April 22.

The baseball game at Ursinus was pushed back a day to Wednesday, April 14. The baseball team also rescheduled its McDaniel doubleheader, which was postponed twice, for Sunday, April 18, replacing the Misericordia makeup game on the Mules’ schedule.

The makeup dates for three recently postponed tennis matches have been established. Men’s tennis will travel to Johns Hopkins on Sunday, April 18, and host Elizabethtown on Thursday, April 22. Women’s tennis plays at Hopkins on Thursday, April 22.

Familiar Final for Men’s Tennis

The Muhlenberg men’s tennis team dropped its third straight match — all by a 4-3 score — indoors at Ursinus.

Unlike their previous two 4-3 losses, the Mules (4-5, 1-4) did not win the doubles point, as the Bears took second and third doubles. The two teams then split the six singles matches.

For the fifth consecutive match, Muhlenberg got singles wins from junior Jeff Kraft at No. 1 and sophomore Brad Gutwillig at No. 4, as well as a first doubles win from Kraft and senior Brian Barkauskas.

At No. 2 singles, Barkauskas added a straight-sets victory, his third in five matches.
