different kind on the first day of the ECAC Championships, hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.

Senior Matt Frye saved the best pole vault of his career for his final meet. He vaulted 14 feet, one-half inch to tie for 11th and add three inches to his previous personal best.

Freshman Rachel Drosdick also came up with a career-best performance, running the 100-meter high hurdles in 15.92 seconds. She finished .22 behind junior teammate Ashlie Hankee.

Junior decathlete John Brodowski, who last weekend qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championships, is trying to solidify his chances at making the field and is off to a good start. After the first day of competition, he is in third place with a score of 3,405 points, 178 better than his Day 1 score last week.

Senior Randy Holak placed 12th in the men’s javelin with a throw of 168 feet, 11 inches. Junior Harry Kegelman recorded a 148-foot throw.

Junior Kristin Boydston came up with her second-best discus throw of the season, 111 feet, five inches.
