IN NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS John Brodowski and Danielle Seiler of the Muhlenberg track and field program have been invited to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships, scheduled to begin on Thursday at Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.
For the second year in a row, Brodowski will be competing in the decathlon
Brodowski is one of 16 competitors in the NCAA decathlon and is seeded 10th. Seiler (left) is the first female in Muhlenberg history to earn a spot at the NCAA Championships in a track event. The NCAA took 19 athletes to compete in the 400 hurdles. Seiler had only the 23rd-best time, but five of the athletes ranked ahead of her elected not to compete. Seiler first qualified for nationals by running a 64.04 at the Penn State Open on May 8. Ten days later, she lowered her mark to 63.44 in a meet at Haverford. Seiler, the Centennial Conference champion in both the 400 hurdles and the 400, has taken more than six seconds off the school record in the 400 hurdles in her two years at Muhlenberg. The decathlon begins at 11:00 on Thursday and resumes at 10:00 the next morning. The trials for the womens 400 hurdles are scheduled for Thursday at 2:35, with the final slated for Saturday at 3:35. |
