McCALL NAMED ALL-AMERICAN

McCall helped the Mules rank 15th in scoring defense in Division III last year.
preseason All-America football team. He was a second-team choice as a defensive lineman.

During his sophomore campaign McCall led the Mules in sacks with 10.5 and tackles for a loss with a total of 17 for 112 yards lost. McCall ranked 19th in all of Division III in sacks per game with an average of 1.1. He placed third in the Centennial Conference in sacks and was tied for third in tackles for a loss. He was also a CC first-team defensive selection last season.

McCall holds two Muhlenberg school records. His 10.5 sacks last year ranks him first for sacks in a season, while his 5.5 sacks in an Oct. 18 contest vs. Ursinus College puts him first in sacks for a single game.

McCall is the sixth Muhlenberg football player to be selected as a preseason All-American. His selection also marks the fifth time in the past seven years that a Mule has been selected for the honor.

The Muhlenberg football team finished the 2003 season with a 7-3 overall record, 5-1 within the CC. The team won a share of the CC championship and its second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III football tournament.

The Mules are scheduled to open up the 2004 season with a Sept. 4 home game against Kings Point.
