Mule womens soccer picked to repeat CC title, while men are picked second |
The Muhlenberg College mens and womens soccer teams are both
coming off
Centennial Conference championship seasons. However, only the womens
team
got the benefit of a narrow vote in the CC preseason polls.
The Mule women edged out Gettysburg as they got four of a possible 10 first-place votes for 92 total points. The Bullets also got four first-place votes but only 91 total points. Johns Hopkins is also expected to be in the mix as it received three first-place votes for 90 points. The Mules lost three all-conference selections to graduation. But, the team has a first-team All-CC pick and seven starters back from last years championship team.
On the mens side it was Johns Hopkins that was given the close nod by CC coaches. The Blue Jays got five out of a possible nine first-place votes and 74 total points. The Mules received four first-place votes for 73 total points. Muhlenberg lost an All-American to graduation, however the bulk of last years squad is returning. Back are two all-region and all-conference selections as well as nine starters and 11 letterwinners. Click here for the 2004 CC mens soccer preseason release.
