WOMEN’S GOLF HOSTS TOURNAMENT

One week after originally scheduled, the Muhlenberg women’s golf team hosted the Muhlenberg Spring Classic.

The postponement caused a drop in the numbers, and only four complete teams competed, including two Division I squads. The Mules finished fourth. Sophomore Kristen Amore led the team with a 97.

Washburn Earns CC Honor

Nicole Washburn For the second time in her career, sophomore Nicole Washburn (left) of the Muhlenberg softball team has been named pitcher of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Washburn was honored after pitching a three-hit shutout at Franklin & Marshall in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, a 7-0 Mule victory. She walked none, struck out three and allowed only two runners past first base. Washburn finished the game strong, retiring the final 11 hitters.

Washburn received pitcher-of-the-week recognition after blanking McDaniel for her first career shutout last year.
