On the same day the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association spring rankings were released, the Muhlenberg women’s tennis team defeated Dickinson, 9-0, for its sixth straight win and second straight Centennial Conference shutout.

The Mules (9-3, 6-1) are ranked eighth in the Atlantic South region, matching their final ranking of a year ago. Muhlenberg is just behind two teams it lost 5-4 matches to (Mary Washington and Swarthmore) and just ahead of a team it defeated 5-4 (Franklin & Marshall).

The Mules’ undefeated No. 1 doubles team of Schmidt and freshman Ashley Reed is 10th in the region and notched its 10th straight win with an 8-1 victory against the Red Devils. Reed also extended her personal singles winning streak to six, improving her combined record to 19-3.
