Four Muhlenberg home events were impacted by the rain.

The women’s lacrosse game against Haverford was rescheduled for Sunday, April 3, at 1:00.

The softball and baseball doubleheaders against Gettysburg and McDaniel, respectively, were postponed. Makeup dates have yet to be determined.

The Muhlenberg Invitational track and field meet was cancelled.

Tennis is unique in that it can be played indoors if conditions don’t permit outdoor play. “It’s nice for us because we know we’re going to play, rain or shine,” said senior No. 1 Jeff Kraft. “We don’t mind it in here.”

The Mules (4-2, 1-2) shouldn’t. Of their four spring matches, they have won the three played in Deitrich Field House, all by 7-0 shutout. They were defeated 7-0 in their lone outdoor match.

“We have an advantage in here,” said Kraft. “The combination of the lighting and the lines makes it tough for other teams.”

The venue had little effect on the outcome of this match, as Muhlenberg breezed to its 22nd consecutive win against the Green Terror (1-3, 0-2). Although junior Brad Gutwillig needed three sets to win at No. 2 singles, the Mules dropped a total of six games in the other eight matches.

Senior Mitchell Reading and junior Adam Nodiff had the easiest time, each winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles play after teaming up for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Kraft improved to 5-1 for the spring with his 6-0, 6-2 singles victory.

It was the second time this season that the Mules won two singles matches 6-0, 6-0, and the first time since 1998 that they had two 8-0 doubles shutouts. Muhlenberg has three shutout wins in a season for the first time since 1999.
