MUHLENBERG KEEPS MATTE AWARD

Donte Borden and Tara DeMarzo accepting Matte Award Muhlenberg College officially kept possession of the Matte Award in a luncheon yesterday in the Life Sports Center.

Muhlenberg and Moravian have competed for the Matte Award every year since 1987-88. Named for the late Aaron Matte (Muhlenberg ’70), a strong supporter of local college athletics, the trophy goes to the school with the better record in head-to-head compeititon in all sports.

Muhlenberg won the Matte Award for the second year in a row, with a 12-6 margin (see below for sport-by-sport results).

Athletic administrators, coaches and student-athletes from both schools attended the luncheon. Senior basketball player Donté Borden and junior softball player Tara DeMarzo represented Muhlenberg.
