Belisonzi is the first Mule woman to place in the 10,000 meters at the CC meet since 1995.

Belisonzi’s time of 37:30.88 was good for third place behind two Dickinson runners, one of whom was the defending champion in the event. She not only eclipsed the provisional qualifying standard of 37:50.00, but she also broke the school record by more than two-and-a-half minutes.

Although the 10K was the only final contested, the first day brought more good news for the Muhlenberg women. Sophomores Rachel Drosdick and Kim David were first and third, respectively, after four of seven events in the heptathlon.

Freshman Adam Carter and senior Harry Kegelman were both in the top five halfway through the men’s decathlon. Sophomore Tim Seeley was in line to score points in the 10,000 before suffering an injury that ended his race.
