Association (ITA).

Schmidt, the first All-American in Muhlenberg tennis history, went 20-2 in singles action in 2005, with her lone losses, as well as two of her wins, coming against other All-Americans. She also went 16-3 in doubles. The Centennial Conference player of the year, Schmidt won her first-round match at the NCAA Division III Individual Championships before falling to the eventual national champion.

In the final ITA rankings for the 2005 season, Schmidt was 19th in Division III and seventh in the Atlantic South Region for singles. She and freshman Ashley Reed combined to form the 14th-ranked doubles team in the region.

This is the third year in a row that Schmidt has shown up in the final ITA rankings. In the regional singles rankings, she was 24th in 2003 and 14th last year. Schmidt also was fifth in the region and 24th nationally for doubles in 2004.

Schmidt was the third Muhlenberg athlete to earn All-America honors in an individual sport in 2004-05, joining Matt Loesch (wrestling) and John Brodowski (outdoor track and field).
