MARTIN SELECTED TO
ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Christopher
Martin Recent Muhlenberg graduate Christopher Martin has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America College Division Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was a third-team choice.

Martin is the 30th Academic All-American in Muhlenberg history, and the first to represent the track and field and cross country programs.

To be nominated for Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve on his team. Martin was one of 45 Academic All-Americans chosen from more than 300 nominees at the district level.

Martin, a double major in chemistry and philosophy, was a member of both the track and field and cross country teams. In track, he earned a gold medal and helped set a school record as a member of the 4x800-meter relay team at the 2005 ECAC Indoor Championships. Martin served as a team captain in cross country and had his best season as a senior, finishing second among Muhlenberg runners at the NCAA Mideast Regional.
