ON ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL |
Rising senior Lindsay Orosz, a double major in communication and political science, was one of four Mules named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2005. |
For the second year in a row, the Muhlenberg womens basketball
team has been named to the Womens Basketball Coaches Association
(WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
The honor roll recognizes the nations highest team grade-point averages for the 2004-05 academic year based upon nominations submitted by WBCA-member head coaches. GPAs are calculated by dividing the total number of quality points earned by each student-athlete on an institutions squad list in the given academic terms by the total number of hours earned by the team. Muhlenberg moved up on the Honor Roll despite graduating six seniors between seasons. The 14-member team combined for a 3.378 GPA last year, good for 18th in Division III. The Mules ranked 24th in team GPA for the 2003-04 academic year. Muhlenberg was one of 14 Division III institutions to make the list both years. Even though we take basketball very seriously, we know academics is going to take us further, so we always put our academics first, said Lacie Smith, a rising senior co-captain. A lot of people, not just those on the team, are very happy about how we handle both our academics and our basketball. |
