Mens Tennis Loses to Regionally Ranked Opponent
The Muhlenberg mens tennis team fell to Haverford, the 10th-ranked team in the Atlantic South Region, 7-0. Senior Adam Nodiff, playing at No. 1 singles, broke his opponents serve to force a tiebreaker in the first set, but could not get over the hump. The Fords (9-1) stayed perfect in the Centennial Conference at 4-0, while the Mules (3-5) fell to 1-4 in conference play. |
For much of the first quarter and the early part of the second, the Mules (4-5, 1-3) took it to the Red Devils (8-2, 3-1). Overcoming a shaky start that saw Dickinson open up a 3-1 lead with 6:32 left in the first, Muhlenberg scored the next four goals, going up 5-3 when senior Galen Marsh circled the net for an unassisted goal with 12:19 on the second-quarter clock. Dickinson scored the next five goals, and after junior Sean Toohill broke the run on his 50th career goal with 2:25 to play in the third, the Red Devils scored three more to take a commanding 11-5 lead. Sophomore Mickey Norton led the Mules with two goals and two assists. |
