Powell and Pam Kimmelman
Freshman Jenn Powell (left) and junior Pam Kimmelman won the last four games at No. 2 doubles to pull out an 8-5 win. Both players went on to win their singles matches in straight sets.
Playing its first outdoor home match of the spring, the Muhlenberg women’s tennis team doubled up Dickinson, 6-3, for its fourth win in a row.

The victory put the Mules (5-4, 5-0) in sole possession of first place in the Centennial Conference. Washington (4-0) and Swarthmore (3-0) also are undefeated in league matches.

Muhlenberg also extended its homecourt winning streak to 33. That streak will be put to the test in the Mules’ next home match, a Tuesday showdown with defending CC champion Swarthmore.

Senior Amy Schmidt kept a pair of individual streaks alive by winning 8-1 at first doubles and 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. She has won 32 consecutive regular-season singles matches and 32 consecutive CC matches (singles and doubles).

All six of Muhlenberg’s points came from the top four players in the lineup. Schmidt’s doubles partner, freshman Carly Rotfeld, won her No. 3 singles match in three sets against a Red Devil player who came in with a record of 8-1.
