The victory put the Mules (5-4, 5-0) in sole possession of first place in the Centennial Conference. Washington (4-0) and Swarthmore (3-0) also are undefeated in league matches. Muhlenberg also extended its homecourt winning streak to 33. That streak will be put to the test in the Mules next home match, a Tuesday showdown with defending CC champion Swarthmore. Senior Amy Schmidt kept a pair of individual streaks alive by winning 8-1 at first doubles and 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. She has won 32 consecutive regular-season singles matches and 32 consecutive CC matches (singles and doubles). All six of Muhlenbergs points came from the top four players in the lineup. Schmidts doubles partner, freshman Carly Rotfeld, won her No. 3 singles match in three sets against a Red Devil player who came in with a record of 8-1. |
