The Muhlenberg athletic community will unite this weekend to help the family of Tara DeMarzo, the Muhlenberg softball player who was injured in a car accident in November.

Fundraising activities will take place at the men’s lacrosse, softball and baseball contests. Men’s lacrosse hosts Franklin & Marshall as scheduled on Saturday, April 8, at 1:30. The softball and baseball doubleheaders have been pushed back a day, to Sunday, April 9, in expectation of better weather.

(The baseball game at Haverford scheduled for today also was postponed, to Monday, April 10.)

Raffle tickets will be sold at all three events, with the winners receiving one of four vacation getaway prizes. Each event will have a halftime/between-games contest in which participants will pay to have the opportunity to score a lacrosse goal, hit a home run or throw a ball into a bucket from centerfield.

All proceeds from the raffle and contests, as well as other related activities, including t-shirt sales and an all-campus softball tournament, will go to the DeMarzo family to help offset some of the medical costs as Tara continues her recovery.
