THREE FOR THE SHOW
Three members of the Muhlenberg womens team have been selected to
participate in the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, hosted
by Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill, May 25-27.
Senior Danielle Seiler will be making her third consecutive trip to
nationals in the 400 intermediate hurdles. Seiler qualified in her last
chance, running a school-record 1:02.95 at the ECAC Championships on
Friday, and has the 15th-fastest time of the 19 competitors. She was 17th
at the NCAAs as a sophomore and 14th last year.
Senior Karen Mount earned her second bid to the NCAAs, but her
first in track: She qualified for the cross country championships in the
fall. Mount has the 13th-best time of the 19 athletes selected for the
1,500 meters.
Rounding out the trio is junior Sarah Mitchell, the three-time
Centennial Conference javelin champion. She ranks 14th among the 18
throwers picked.
This is the first time the Mules have sent three athletes to the NCAA
Championships in outdoor track.
The 1,500 and hurdles trials are scheduled for Thursday afternoon, with
the finals for both on Saturday. The javelin is set for Saturday morning.
