The Muhlenberg softball team failed to bring a player across the plate in two games against Swarthmore and dropped its doubleheader, 2-0 and 4-0, despite putting runners in scoring position six times throughout the day.

The first game proved to be a pitchers duel, as Muhlenberg was held off the scoreboard, and senior right-hander Nicole Washburn struck out seven and surrendered just one earned run to the Garnet in six innings.

In the second game, the Mules got four hits, including one by senior Tina Roth, who notched her fourth double of the season in the seventh.

Pam Kimmelman
Kimmelman has won six No. 2 singles matches in a row.
The women’s tennis team got back to winning in impressive fashion, shutting out Ursinus, 9-0, and improving its Centennial Conference record to 4-2. The Mules are now 4-3 on the season.

Sophomore Jenn Powell and senior Pam Kimmelman won at No. 1 doubles, 8-6, and went on to earn No.1 and No. 2 singles victories, respectively.

Also winning at both singles and doubles was sophomore Carly Rotfeld. She contributed to an 8-1 triumph at No. 2 doubles with freshman Danielle Weiss and won her No. 3 singles match in straight sets.

Rounding out the doubles sweep were junior Amanda Clifford and sophomore Leslie Schaffer, who were victorious at No. 3 by a score of 8-5.

Junior Jacquelyn Magner (No. 4), sophomore Maddy Goldfarb (No. 5) and sophomore Olga Skoropad (No. 6) each earned their second singles victories of the spring.
