The Muhlenberg track and field teams produced two school records and eight
ECAC qualifiers at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic, a large two-day meet that
included teams from as far away as Detroit.
The relay team of seniors Lex Mercado and Stephen Rothwell, sophomore Stuart Udis and freshman Patrick Thornton set a school record of 7:54.37 while finishing second in the 4x800. The foursome was also responsible for the Mules highest finish of the meet. Mercado (left) and Rothwell were also part of the team that held the previous mark of 7:57.93, set three years ago. Freshman Alex Faust broke the school record in the 200 meters by one one-hundredth of a second. She qualified for ECACs in that event as well as the 4x100 relay. Senior Tim Seeley ran a personal-best 15:17.07 and moved up to second place on the programs all-time performance list in the 5,000 meters. Sophomore Janette Adams and junior Sara Gearin joined him as 5K ECAC qualifiers. Senior Matthew Sallese qualified for the ECAC Championships in the shot put, missing his outdoor personal best by an inch.
