baseball comes back at susquehanna
Senior Edward Risener became the 37th member of the Muhlenberg 100-hit club when he singled with one out and one on in the top of the fourth. The Mules (14-20-1) trailed 2-0 at the time, but an error and a bases-loaded walk to the next two batters made it 2-1, and sophomore Bobby Spindler followed with a single to left to give Muhlenberg a 3-2 lead. Junior Dan Fisher led off the fifth with his 13th double of the season, tying the school record set three years ago by senior John Kalis, who drove in a run later in the inning. Junior Eric Pomroy also singled in a run, and Risener capped the Mules’ second straight three-run inning with an RBI double. Sophomore Jason Daniels settled down after allowing two runs in the first and held the Crusaders (21-13) to one run over the next five innings. After giving up a run in the seventh, he handed the ball to senior Mike Misciagna, who recorded the final out of the inning and started a 1-6-3 double play to work out of a jam in the eighth.
Senior Matthew Ordog pitched a scores ninth to earn the save.
