cohn named to district academic team

Tara Cohn Senior Tara Cohn of the Muhlenberg field hockey team was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II College Division at-large third team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

District II College Division consists of all NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and two-year colleges and universities in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To be nominated for the at-large team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve on her team in the sport of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis or water polo.

Cohn will graduate magna cum laude with a natural science major and double minor in mathematics and business administration on Sunday. She was a first-team All-Centennial Conference and second-team All-South Region pick in 2009 after leading the Mules with nine goals and tying for the team led with three assists. Cohn finished eighth in the CC in points per game (1.40) and sixth in goals per game (0.60).

A second-team All-CC selection as a junior, Cohn was sixth in program history with 13 assists and 13th with 57 points, accumulated mostly in her last two seasons.
