Muhlenberg College Womens Golf
The Muhlenberg College womens golf team was born in the summer of
1999 and began competition that fall. Womens golf is
the 21st varsity sport at Muhlenberg and the first to be added since 1991.
The fledgling womens team will look to follow in the footsteps of the Mule mens golf program, which has won two Centennial Conference championships in the last four years and earned its first NCAA Division III Tournament berth in 1999.
In their first year of competition, the Mules competed in eight tournaments. Their best finish was third at the Dickinson Invitational. Sophomore Courtney Sessa posted the teams best score, a 90 at the Western Maryland Fall Invitational. She also was the medalist in tournaments at Gettysburg and Franklin & Marshall.
Muhlenbergs home course is Lehigh Country Club, which, with its outstanding practice facilities and beautiful 18-hole course, is one of the premier clubs in the Mid-Atlantic area.
