The Muhlenberg women’s golf team had one of the shortest seasons on record in 2009.
Rain cancelled all the Mules’ tournaments leading up to the Centennial Conference Championships, reducing their competitive season to two days.
The team hosted the CC Championships at Olde Homestead Golf Club and finished fifth for the second straight year.
Sophomore Amy Venuto shot a career-low 98 on the second day and led Muhlenberg with a 36-hole total of 204. Junior Sarah Mellick was nine strokes back.
Hayley Cush (right), the lone Mule senior to compete, finished her career with the sixth-best stroke average in program history for a player with more than one year.
Sophomore Allison Siefert and freshman Amanda Heiberger also competed in the CC Championships.
