Muhlenberg soccer players Jennie Vroman and David Vassilaros
have been named to the 2001 Verizon/CoSIDA College Division Academic
All-America All-District
Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of
America (CoSIDA).
Both student-athletes are now on the ballot for the Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, February 5. College Division District II consists of all colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia that are not members of NCAA Division I. To be nominated for the Verizon Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and a starter or significant reserve on his or her team.
This year marks the 50th year of the Academic All-America program, which has honored more than 12,000 student-athletes. This is the first year that there is a separate team for soccer; previously, soccer was included as part of the Fall/Winter At-Large team. |
