The eighth-ranked Muhlenberg women started things off with an 86-59 win to improve their perfect record to 13-0. The men completed the sweep with their ninth straight win, overcoming a two-point halftime deficit to prevail, 75-58.

blocked shots. The six swats gave Lesko 142 for his career, tying the school record set by Ken Chwatek (1981-84). Lesko also moved into the top 10 on the CC’s all-time scoring list with 1,236 points.

The Mules (12-3, 4-1) led by as many as nine points in the first half, but Washington (5-9, 1-4) closed the half on a 9-0 run to take a 33-31 lead into the locker room.

The Shoremen were clinging to a 36-35 lead early in the second half before Muhlenberg went on an 18-4 run to open up a 13-point lead midway through the period. Lesko scored 10 points to lead the charge and finished with his 38th straight double-figure scoring game and his 26th career double-double.

Junior Anthony Strachan scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, during which Muhlenberg outscored Washington, 44-25, and added eight rebounds and four assists. Senior Bill Cwieka chipped in 15 points.

The Mules outrebounded the Shoremen, who did not have a player taller than 6-3, by a 53-34 margin. Click here for box score.

• Women’s Basketball: Washington (7-7, 2-4) handled Muhlenberg’s press early in the game and held a 22-21 lead nine minutes in. But the Mules (13-0, 5-0) went on a 17-0 run to open up a 16-point lead and breezed from there to remain one of seven undefeated teams in Division III.

Muhlenberg extended its school records for consecutive games won (13) and consecutive home games won (17) and moved to within one win of tying the school record for best start by any team (set by the 1990 field hockey squad). The Mules also set a school record by topping the 70-point mark for the eighth consecutive game.

Sophomore Becky Richmond tied a career high with 16 points and pulled down a career-best 16 rebounds. Sophomore Susan Marchiano had 18 points, eight rebounds and five steals, while junior Randi Baran made her first three three-point attempts and finished with 11 points.

Sophomore Amber Nelson added seven point and nine rebounds as the Mules outrebounded the Shorewomen 32-13 in the second half and 59-37 for the game.
