Three Muhlenberg football players have been named to the 2002
Football Gazette All-South Region Teams, selected by sports
information directors from the 63 schools that sponsor football in the
region. All three will go on the national ballot for the All-America team.
Senior kicker Chris Reed was a first-team selection and also was named South Region special teams player of the year. He had a Division III-high 16 field goals, including seven from 40 yards or more, along with 49 extra points in 51 attempts. Junior running back Matt Bernardo also earned a spot on the first team by rushing for 1,393 yards and leading all South Region players with 22 touchdowns and 2,173 all-purpose yards. He also averaged 31.4 yards on kickoff returns. Junior offensive tackle Chris Radomski was named to the second team. He was the top lineman on an offense that averaged 35.8 points and 357.6 yards per game and allowed only 15 sacks. Click here for the complete team.
