Seniors Aaron Holden and Toomey Anderson put up career-best numbers to
lead the Muhlenberg mens basketball team to an 82-72 home win against
University of the Sciences.
Holden scored a career-high 21 points and blocked a career-best five shots. He also pulled down 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and the sixth of his career. Anderson recorded a career-high nine assists with only one turnover (on an offensive foul late in the second half). The Mules (2-2) trailed only once in the game (2-0) and built a seven-point lead in the first half by shooting 48.8 percent and turning the ball over only three times. Sophomore John Jemmott hit two three-pointers in a 12-2 run that opened the second half and extended Muhlenbergs lead to 17 points. Jemmott finished with 12 points, and senior Anthony Strachan contributed 17 points. Sophomore Chase Licata provided a big spark off the bench with career highs of nine points and eight rebounds. The Mules outrebounded the Devils (2-2) by a 46-33 margin. |
