Womens Basketball to Face McDaniel
For the second consecutive year, the Muhlenberg womens basketball team will face McDaniel in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference playoffs. The Green Terror (18-7) tied Gettysburg for second place in the CC West Division and defeated the Bullets, 64-60, in the tiebreaker game. Last year, McDaniel won a tiebreaker game, then upset the Mules, 53-52, en route to winning its first CC championship. Earlier this season, Muhlenberg took a 63-62 decision from the Green Terror. The last three meetings between the two teams were all one-point games. Muhlenberg will host McDaniel on Wednesday, February 26, at 7:00. ========================== WOMENS TENNIS DROPS CLOSE MATCH IN SPRING OPENER In a matchup between regionally ranked defending conference champions, the Muhlenberg womens tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at The College of New Jersey late Sunday night. The Mules shared the Centennial Conference championship last spring and were ranked ninth in the Atlantic South Region. The Lions won the New Jersey Athletic Conference title in the fall to earn a ranking of 17th in the Northeast Region. All three doubles matches were 8-6, and half of the singles matches went to three sets. Junior Gena Ross won at first singles against a TCNJ player who was the 2001 NJAC player of the year and a fall All-American. The match was rescheduled after the Feb. 16 Lions Invitational was wiped out by snow. |
