WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ELIMINATED
Randi Baran

Senior point guard Randi Baran scored five points in the final game of her career. She finished fourth on the Mules’s all-time assists list with 223.

The McDaniel women’s basketball team shot 53 percent from the field in scoring 43 second-half points and defeated Muhlenberg, 77-64, in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference playoffs.

The Green Terror (19-7), who will face Johns Hopkins in the championship game, ended the Mules’ season for the second straight year. Muhlenberg finished 17-9, with all nine of its losses coming to teams with at least 19 wins.

The Mules never trailed in the first half and led by as many as eight points. McDaniel scored the final five points of the half to cut the gap to two, then tied the score in the first minute of the second half.

Muhlenberg scored the next three points to take a 39-36 lead with 17:59 left, but made only four field goals in the next 13 minutes as the Green Terror went on a 33-13 surge.

Junior Susan Marchiano, playing for the first time in 18 days, recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 16 rebounds. She also had five steals. Junior Erin DeVaney scored a career-high 11 points.
