third seed at 149, pinned second seed Jeremy Adams of Lycoming to reach the final. Mills lost an 8-5 decision to top-seeded Rory Tobias of Oneonta State in the championship match. Tobias is ranked fifth in the NCAA.

Matt Loesch also pinned a higher seed in his semifinal match, defeating second-seeded and seventh-ranked Tom Medonis of Springfield. The Mule freshman faced an even tougher test in the 197 final against top seed Robert Cuffie, who is ranked second in the nation. Loesch kept it close, but lost by a 6-3 decision. It was the first loss of his young career.

Senior Josh Carter advanced by forfeit to the heavyweight final, where he was defeated by eighth-ranked Scott Fay of Springfield.

Senior David Brown won his first match before losing to the No. 4 and No. 3 seeds at 133. He finished sixth.

Today’s success helped the Mules move up two spots in the team standings. They finished eighth among 13 teams.
