MULES NOT SHARP AFTER LONG LAYOFF

Playing for the first time in 23 days, the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team stumbled in the second half and was defeated by Susquehanna, 94-84.

The Mules (7-2) led by as many as 13 points in the first half, but their edge was cut to five by halftime and wiped out two minutes into the second half. A 10-0 run by the Crusaders (4-5), who played on Thursday, broke a 53-all tie, and Muhlenberg got no closer than six points the rest of the way.

Susquehanna shot 56 percent and had a 37-18 advantage on the boards in the second half. The Mules shot just 32 percent for the game and made only eight of 35 three-point attempts.

Junior Kristen Piscadlo led Muhlenberg with 14 points. She also had five assists to move into eighth place on the program’s all-time list with 193 in her career. Senior Gwen Doyle made a pair of second-half three-pointers to become the sixth player in Centennial Conference history with 150 in a career. She has 151.

Freshman Abra Like tied a career high with eight points, all in the first half.

The Mules had their 10-game home winning streak snapped.
