A change in the calendar did not mean a change in fortune for the Muhlenberg womens basketball team, which fell to Dickinson, 83-59, in its first game of February following a 1-8 January. The Red Devils (17-1, 12-1), who are ranked 22nd in Division III, won their 13th in a row. The Mules (8-10, 4-7) lost their seventh straight. The setback spoiled a great game by junior Lacie Smith, who recorded her first career double-double with career highs of 19 points and 17 rebounds. The 17 rebounds are the most by a Muhlenberg player this year. Smith had 15 rebounds in the Mules last game. Junior Stephanie Coluccini just missed a double-double, with nine points and nine rebounds. Junior Kristen Piscadlo had nine points and four assists, moving into fourth place on the Mules all-time assists list with 225 for her career. Dickinson led from start to finish, making three of four three-point attempts to open up a 21-8 lead eight minutes into the game. The Mules got to within four, at 24-20, but the Red Devils closed the first half on an 18-5 run and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game. |
