Senior Dale Mills is the only Mule still alive in the winners bracket. Seeded third at 157, he won his first two bouts by technical fall and decision. His scheduled semifinal opponent, Jake Tyler of Springfield, is ranked fifth in Division III. Freshman Billy Hall was the top seed at 133, but was defeated in sudden victory in the quarterfinals. Hall rebounded to pin the fourth seed in the consolation bracket. Also alive in the consolation bracket are sixth-seeded sophomore Joseph DeCampo (149) and unseeded senior Chris Gibson (165) and freshman Mark Wiseman (184). Gibson won three straight bouts after dropping his opener. Wiseman was impressive in his collegiate debut, winning twice by pin, one in 48 seconds. His only loss was to the top seed. The Mules were tied for seventh after the first day, in a close battle with Centennial Conference-rival Johns Hopkins for sixth place.
