Lauren Boyle Sophomore guard Lauren Boyle of the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team was named player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Boyle averaged 20.0 points and shot 52.9 percent from the field in wins against rivals DeSales and Johns Hopkins. She tied a career high with 25 points to go along with three assists and three steals in the Mules’ first win at DeSales in nine years. In the Hopkins game, Boyle scored a team-high 15 points, including nine in the first 10 minutes of the second half, when Muhlenberg broke open a close game en route to a 75-58 win.

It was the second time earning the weekly honor in Boyle’s young career. She also was cited after the Mules’ two Centennial Conference playoff games last year.

For the season, Boyle is third in the Centennial Conference in scoring at 16.4 points per game. She also is second on the team with seven steals and tied for second with 12 assists. Muhlenberg is off to a 5-0 start for the fourth time in six seasons.
