All-Centennial Conference Basketball

The Muhlenberg mens basketball season has come to an end.
The Mules lost to Gettysburg, 60-51, in the first round of the Centennial Conference playoffs. Muhlenberg is now eliminated from the tournament, while Gettysburg will go on to face No. 1 Johns Hopkins on Saturday. Two cold-shooting spells plagued the Mules (10-15, 9-9). They were held to just one field goal in seven minutes of play in the first half, en route to a 31-24 deficit going into halftime. In the second half, Muhlenberg went on a run and took a 43-40 lead with 9:07 to go but didn't score again until 40 seconds remained in the game. Gettysburg (13-12, 10-8) scored 12 points during that stretch to take the lead and eventually the win. Senior Tom Scott led the Mules in the loss, recording his second double-double of the season with 16 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Senior Chris Huber added 12 points. |
![]() Sophomore Mike Bernardini drove in for this layup to bring the Mules to within 13-12 with 11:44 left in the first half. Gettysburg scored the next nine points and led by at least six the rest of the half. |
