Courtney For the third time in the last two years, senior Meghan Courtney of the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team was named player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Courtney, who shared the honor with a Johns Hopkins player, averaged 19.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 blocks and 3.3 assists; scored her 1,000th point; and made big plays down the stretch as the Mules won three close games.

She hit the go-ahead basket with 3:55 left in a 61-56 win at Haverford, blocked two shots in the last two minutes of a 68-65 victory against rival Moravian, and scored 11 of Muhlenberg’s last 17 points in a 90-81 triumph at Alvernia. Her three-pointer with 5:37 left in the latter game pushed her over the 1,000-point mark and gave the Mules the lead for good.

Courtney leads the 18-3 Mules in scoring (15.7 points per game), rebounding (9.4 rebounds per game) and blocked shots (45) and is third in assists (41) and steals (20). In the Centennial Conference, she leads in blocked shots and is third in scoring and rebounding.

On Muhlenberg’s all-time lists, Courtney ranks fifth in points (1,009), eighth in rebounds (618) and second in blocked shots (106).

Courtney is the third Mule player to earn the CC weekly honor this season.
