Members of the Muhlenberg baseball, men’s soccer and women’s lacrosse teams participated in the Cops N Kids program at Mosser Elementary School last Tuesday. The student-athletes visited the school to read to the children and talk to them about the importance of doing well in school.

The next day, Muhlenberg welcomed more than two dozen inner-city girls to Memorial Hall and Deitrich Field House in celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The girls rotated among seven stations, where they learned skills from female athletes from the Muhlenberg field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field and volleyball teams.

“It was great to teach the girls about something that most of them had no experience with,” said junior tennis player Amanda Clifford. “They got an opportunity to see a bunch of different types of sports, and hopefully one clicks for them.”
