Tuesday, November 24
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Muhlenberg 67, Gettysburg 49. Two Amandas combined to lead Muhlenberg past Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference opener. Senior AMANDA WATERBURY recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds; and freshman AMANDA SPENGLER scored seven of her nine points in a 15-3 run to close out the first half, extending the Mules' lead from six to 18. Sophomore JESSICA DRENNAN also posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while senior JILL ROTH added 14 points and seven rebounds. Muhlenberg held the Bullets to 24-percent shooting. MEN'S BASKETBALL Muhlenberg 66, King's 62. Junior ERIC NOTHSTEIN hit a three-pointer with 15 seconds left to give Muhlenberg a 64-62 lead en route to a come-from-behind non-conference win. Freshman BILL CWIEKA nailed two free throws with eight seconds left for the final margin. The Mules trailed by seven points at halftime, but used strong free-throw shooting to make up the deficit. Junior SCOTT NIELSEN led Muhlenberg with a career-high 10 points, eight on free throws in the second half. Freshman MARK LESKO had the best game of his young career with eight points and eight rebounds. Click here for box score.
