WOMEN’S BASKETBALL Muhlenberg 49, Elmira 42 (OT). Junior Jessica Drennan posted her first double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds as the Mules scored an impressive win against an Elmira team that had just defeated Salem State, ranked second in Division III in one preseason poll. A jumper by sophomore Jenn Risley (off a Drennan assist) gave Muhlenberg a 39-37 lead with 20 seconds left in regulation, but the Soaring Eagles tied it with 8 ticks on the clock. In the first three minutes of OT, Drennan scored 5 points and assisted junior P.J. Schwartz for a baseline jumper that put the Mules ahead to stay. Muhlenberg, 3-0 for the first time in 14 years, had another fine defensive effort and has now held its opponents to an average of 46.3 points per game. Click here for box score.
