November 22: Seniors finish strong Both Muhlenberg seniors running at the NCAA Championships posted career-best finishes.

November 19: NCAA preview Two senior runners will represent Muhlenberg at the NCAA Championships.

November 16: Chorney invited to NCAAs Senior David Chorney earned a spot in the NCAA Championships field when the Haverford team received an at-large bid. Chorney will be one of two Mules running in the national meet.

November 15: VanSyckle qualifies for nationals Senior Timothy VanSyckle finished seventh at the NCAA Mideast Regional to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row. His seventh-place finish was the best ever by a Muhlenberg male runner at the regional meet. The men finished 10th and the women 15th.

November 1: VanSyckle takes bronze at CC meet Senior Timothy VanSyckle (left) tied the best finish ever by a Muhlenberg runner at the Centennial Conference Championships, coming in third to lead the Mule men’s team to a fifth-place finish. Sophomore Kate Mahoney placed 10th for the women, who came in eighth.

October 31: Championship preview Both Muhlenberg teams have been running in nasty weather to prepare for the Centennial Conference Championships.

October 18: Mules tune up for championships Muhlenberg ran at Lafayette with other Division I teams in its final tuneup for the Centennial Conference Championships. Both the men and women beat squads from the highest division.

October 3: Men impressive at Paul Short The Muhlenberg men’s team finished fourth out of 41 teams at the Paul Short Run, besting two teams ranked higher in the region. Senior David Chorney (right) scored his second straight top-10 finish at the meet, placing 10th.

September 20: Mules split up at Dickinson Some runners went long and some went short in a unique meet at Dickinson that featured most of the top teams in the region. Senior Timothy VanSyckle finished fifth in the men’s 8K, and sophomore Kate Mahoney was 10th in the women’s 6K.

September 13: Muhlenberg teams sweep Mule/Falcon Classic Senior Timothy VanSyckle and sophomore Kate Mahoney (right) finished second and third in their respective races to lead the Muhlenberg teams to a sweep of the Mule/Falcon Classic. It was the first time since 1997 that both Mule teams took home top honors.

August 30: Mules open up at Lehigh Valley meet The Muhlenberg teams opened the 2008 season at the Lehigh Valley Championships. Freshmen and sophomores, including top runner Kim Bier (left), made up the top five finishers for the women, who placed fourth. The men held out their upperclassmen and came in fifth.

August 28: Men earn preseason ranking The Mule men’s team is ranked in the region and received a vote in the national poll.

August 25: Season preview Muhlenberg’s young runners add potential for the upcoming season.
