The Muhlenberg College Health Services policy on Confidentiality is designed to ensure a student's right to privacy. The student is responsible for notifying his or her parents or guardian regarding a health problem. A member of the college staff will notify parents in the event of an extreme emergency. The policy is designed to maintain the confidentiality necessary for a young adult, yet recognizes the need for parents and guardians to be adequately informed.

Parents may have questions about their son or daughter's health status. Medical information will not be released without the written consent of the student. Our staff will assist with general questions, however principles of patient confidentiality will not be violated.
