Marena Dunnington, a Junior, is a Theatre major with a double concentration in acting and directing. On campus, she is involved with Students for Queer Advocacy (SQuAd) and is currently serving her third term on their executive board. She is also a member of Phi Mu fraternity, where she serves on the Philanthropy Committee and is very involved in philanthropic work. Marena is an active member in MTA and has worked on the Youth and Prejudice Conference (held through the Institute for Jewish Christian Understanding) since her freshman year, as a facilitator as well as an actor. She was the director of The Library, which is performed as part of their conference.
A graduate of Parker School, Marena has lived with her family in Waimea, Hawaii, on the Big Island, for the past seven years. After graduation, Marena hopes to obtain her Masters degree in Educational Theatre with a focus on Drama Therapy, and then go on to teach drama at a therapeutic school.
