Annual Review of Sociology
Summary and analysis of research in the field of sociology, published annually.  Good for an overview of the current state of research on a given topic.  Print version of volumes from 1994 to 2008 are also available in the Trexler Library Main Collection at 301.05 A615r.

Cambridge Dictionary of Sociology (2006)
Examines both American and European traditions and approaches to sociology. Entries cover schools, theories, theorists and debates, with substantial articles on all key topics in the field. While recognizing the richness of historical sociological traditions, the Dictionary also looks forward to new and evolving influences such as cultural change, genetics, globalization, information technologies, new wars and terrorism.  Also available in print in the Trexler Library Reference Collection at 301.03 C178.

ICPSR (Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research)
ICPSR maintains a data archive of more than 500,000 files of research in the social sciences. It hosts 16 specialized collections of data in education, aging, criminal justice, substance abuse, terrorism, and other fields.  Full access available only to Muhlenberg faculty, students, and staff who create accounts using their Muhlenberg email addresses.

Statistical Abstract of the United States
The Statistical Abstract of the United States, published since 1878, is the authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States.  Archived editions (1995- ) are available online, as well.   Old print editions (1886- ) are in the Trexler Library Government Documents section starting at C 3.134:886.  The most current print edition is in the Trexler Library Statistics Reference section at 317.3 U58s.
