Reunion 2009: It's a Wrap!
Alumni Raise More Than $500,000 in Honor of Their Reunion

Reunion Weekend brought more than 430 alumni and 110 guests back to campus to relive memories, reconnect with friends and visit the place they once called home. The Classes of 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989 and 1994 took center stage at this star-studded affair held June 5-7, 2009. Though the weekend started out with rainy weather, the skies cleared on Saturday and Sunday allowing Muhlenberg to “Roll Out the Red Carpet” in style!

Popular events and activities included the Donald Rothfeld ’59 Art Collection Wine and Cheese Reception; the Class of 1994 Welcome Back at Rookie’s; trolley tours around campus and the surrounding area; a panel discussion on the economy by Muhlenberg faculty; President Randy Helm’s State of the College Address; and a Reunion Brunch held in the Multicultural Center. In addition, the Alumni Achievement Awards Luncheon was a big draw and honored the following alumni and friends:

Fourteen Heritage Alumni (those celebrating 50+ years since graduation) attended Reunion 2009. The class with the best attendance was the Class of 1964: over 120 members returned to campus to celebrate their 45th Reunion. The Class of 1964 also met their Reunion Challenge of 45% participation and enjoyed a champagne toast with President Randy Helm at their class dinner. The Class of 1984 also enjoyed a champagne toast after meeting their 34% participation challenge.
In total, 684 alumni made gifts and pledges in the amount of $579,848.70 to Muhlenberg's Talents Campaign in honor of their Reunion. The College thanks all those who came back and who gave back this year. Overall, the weekend was a smash hit!
A Volunteer Brunch was held on Saturday to thank those who worked so hard to put Reunion Weekend together. Two thumbs-up and thanks again to our Reunion and Class Fund Chairs and Reunion Committee members for all their work behind-the-scenes!
