Full-time students, full-time employees, members of the Board of Directors and ongoing part–time staff as well as spouses, domestic partners and dependants (ages 18-21) of these individuals have unrestricted access to the Life Sports Center. Retired college employees and part-time semester appointment employees including adjunct faculty are also eligible to unrestricted use of the facility but do not have guest privileges.

The new, South entrance will serve as the lone point of entry for all users of the Life Sports Center during regular operating hours. Each individual who falls under the accepted guidelines for use must present a Muhlenberg College photo identification card in order to gain access to the Life Sports Center. Individuals are asked to swipe their photo identification card at the control desk upon entry to the building. No one will be granted access to the Life Sports Center before presenting proper identification. This includes athletes, students, administrators, faculty, and staff.

Unrestricted users with spouse, domestic partner and dependant privileges are eligible for restricted access for dependants under the age of 18 years. When under the close supervision of their parent or legal guardian, dependants under the age of 18 are permitted access to Memorial Hall, Dietrich Field House, Alumni Pool, and the racquetball courts. **No one under the age of 18 is permitted to enter the weight room or cardio center at any time unless they are are full-time student of the college. Any user under the age of 18 that is left unattended will be asked to leave the facility immediately.

Users must adhere to the dress code at all times while using the Life Sports Center. The dress code applies to all public areas of the Life Sports Center other than Alumni Pool.

Shoes must be worn at all times in the Life Sports Center, open toe shoes such as flip-flops or sandals are prohibited in the weight room and cardio fitness center. Users must also wear pants or shorts of appropriate length and shirts with sleeves at all times in the weight room and cardio area. Clothing with rivets or buckles and belts may not be worn in the weight room or cardio fitness center.

Only those with unrestricted access and guest privileges will be permitted to bring one (1) guest to use the Life Sports Center per visit. Each individual photo identification card will allow for a yearly total of twelve (12) guests passes. The Control Desk Monitor will swipe the card, which will contain a deducting balance of guest passes.

Every guest of an accepted user of the Life Sports Center is required to complete a waiver form at the Control Desk before entering the facility and must be at least 12 years in age.

The following is a list of users who have guest privileges:

• Full-time students (regardless of age) & full-time employees
• Members of the Board of Directors
• Ongoing part-time staff

All Muhlenberg College Alumni will have the opportunity to purchase a yearly pass to the Life Sports Center. This will grant alumni access to all areas of the LSC.

An alumni pass will be $300.00 for the Academic Year. An alumni spouse pass will be an additional $150.00. Alumni are not permitted to bring dependants or guests to the LSC.

These passes can be purchased directly in the Athletic Office. Alumni will complete the required paperwork and make payment in the Athletic Office. Upon payment of the yearly fee, the required photo identification card can be obtained in Seegers Union. No alumni will be permitted to use the LSC without the proper photo identification card.

Visiting alumni may arrange a short term pass by contacting the Director of Athletics prior to your campus visit.

Wescoe School students enrolled in degree completion program and degree candidates will be permitted to purchase Life Sports Center privileges. To use the facility these students must pay the Student Activity Fee, currently $230 (2004-2005). They will be restricted users and therefore are not allowed to have guests. Wescoe School students eligible for this benefit should report to the Wescoe School office to complete the proper paperwork and pay the fee.

All part-time students of the college will have the opportunity to purchase a yearly pass for the Life Sports Center for a fee of $300. These individuals will not be granted guest privileges nor will their spouses or dependants be granted access to the facility. Part-time students will complete the required paperwork and make payment in the Athletic Office. Upon payment of the yearly fee, the required photo identification card can be obtained in Seegers Union.

No Wescoe School or part-time student will be permitted to use the LSC without the proper photo identification card.

A user may sign out recreational equipment directly at the Control Desk. The user will be required to leave his/her identification card at the Control Desk and sign out the equipment. The identification card will be returned to the user once the equipment has been returned and signed back in at the desk.

Examples of available equipment are: racquetball racquets, balls & protective eyewear, basketballs, volleyballs, and soccer balls.

Temporary Guest Passes can be obtained in the Athletic Office. Only the President, Dean of Students, and/or Director of Athletics may approve these passes.

All pre-existing “Courtesy Passes” will no longer be accepted. Temporary Guest Passes will be issued with expiration dates, allowing the pass holder full access to the Life Sports Center until the established date of expiration. Holders of a Temporary Guest Pass must be accompanied by the individual that requested the pass at all times while using the Life Sports Center.

The Life Sports Center often has outside groups that are granted permission to use the facility (Ex: Allentown Police Department, Summer camps, pool parties, Wellness Classes, Sacred Heart Hospital swim classes, noon basketball & volleyball groups & Jefferson Elementary School). Any group intending to use the LSC must make prior arrangements with the Athletic Facilities Manager and file the necessary paperwork (Facilities Reservation Form and Insurance Information) with the Office of Campus Events in the Student Union.

Each of these groups will pay a pre-established fee in order to gain access to the LSC. This fee can be paid to the Business Manager of Athletics, and must be resolved prior to any group gaining access to the LSC. A list will be provided each week at the Control Desk containing the names of any outside groups using the facility, the time & date of the visit, and the amount of guests in the group). The group will only be granted access to the facility during the scheduled hours of the visit and must enter the LSC as a complete group. The group must be accompanied by their Muhlenberg College sponsor at all times during their use of our facility.

The Control Desk will possess a sign in sheet specifically intended for admissions tours. The monitor at the Control Desk will record the number of people in the group without interrupting the tour. The tour guide is required to swipe his or her ID as they enter the building.

A group on a self-guided tour will also be permitted to view the facilities. One member of the group will be required to sign in at the Control Desk.

No individual is permitted access to the Life Sports Center other than accepted users and registered guests of those users. Any individual not possessing the proper identification card or a “temporary guest pass” will be denied access to the facility without exception.
