Ranajoy Ray Chaudhuri joined the Muhlenberg faculty in 2015. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University in 2012. He has taught Economics, Finance and Statistics at The Ohio State University, Princeton University and St. Mary’s College of Maryland; he has also taught abroad at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico and Qingdao University in China.

His research focuses on the evolution of financial regulations, the interlinkage between finance and growth, central banking and monetary policy and how institutions evolve over time and impact short-term growth and long-term development. He is the author of the book, “The Changing Face of American Banking: Deregulation, Reregulation, and the Global Financial System”, published by Palgrave Macmillan. Some of the non-Economics things he loves, in no particular order, are photography, hiking, travel, rowing, roller coasters, word games, the New York Times, reading, museums, maps, history, politics, wildlife, swamps, NPR, movies & cooking.
