Getting Started & Safety
The makerspace is available to the whole Muhlenberg Community, students, faculty, and staff. Users must receive training before accessing the space and equipment.
Makerspace Hours
During Spring 2024, we are open 9am-5pm every weekday.
However, there are some limitations:
- Classes are going on at various times, such as Monday and Wednesday 11am-2pm. During these times, some loud machines may not be available for use.
- There are workshops and other programming that may be going on at times; please check the calendar or reservation system to ensure that a specific piece of equipment will be available.
- There may be some unexpected closures as staffing dictates. We will do our best to put these out on our Instagram account, @bergINE as soon as we are aware of them.

The makerspace contains equipment, tools, and technologies that encourages students to explore, build, tinker, and create.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Muhlenberg College Makerspace is to provide a collaborative and inclusive environment where students, faculty, and staff can come together to explore, experiment, and create with a wide range of tools and technologies. We believe that making is a fundamental part of the liberal arts experience, and that it encourages critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that are essential for success in any field.
Our makerspace is dedicated to promoting hands-on learning and exploration, and to fostering a sense of community and collaboration among our diverse student body. We strive to provide access to cutting-edge technology and equipment, as well as to support and encourage traditional crafts and skills.
We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for all, and to promoting social and environmental responsibility in all aspects of our work. We believe that our makerspace has the power to inspire innovation and creativity, and to help our students develop the skills and confidence they need to make a positive impact in the world.
The Muhlenberg Makerspace is located in the lower level of the Fahy Commons for Innovation and Community Engagement.

Makerspace community members may request swipe-access between the hours of 8 am and midnight.
