Sara Vigneri

Vigneri is a freelance reporter and editorial researcher whose clients include magazines, book authors and websites. Formerly a research editor at Men’s Health magazine, Vigneri has contributed to publications and websites such as, Success, Cooking Light, Men’s Fitness, and Eat This Not That. She also serves on the editorial board of the non-profit publication Hakol, which serves the Lehigh Valley Jewish community and volunteers as a media consultant for Planned Parenthood Keystone. Vigneri currently teaches Journalistic Traditions and Communicating Killer Science and Narrative Journalism and teaches Writing for the Media for The Wescoe School. As the faculty adviser to the Muhlenberg Weekly, Vigneri helped usher a revitalization of the newspaper, leading to the President’s Award and a renewed interest in campus journalism. As a researcher and reporter, she has a keen interest in journalism ethics and fact-based reporting and her classes provide a blend of journalism case studies, ethical discussions and hands-on writing and reporting. Her teaching philosophy is to use journalism as a lesson in the importance of civic engagement and to encourage students to explore their place in the world through journalism.
