'96 Melissa Bloom was engaged to Anthony Eby on July 13, 2001 and the couple is planning a September 21, 2002 wedding. Melissa is a credit manager with Lumsden Corporation in Lancaster, Pa., and Anthony is a computer programmer analyst with Computer Aid, Inc. in Harrisburg. Stephanie Diem is engaged to be married in April 2002. Stephanie, who lives in Eastport, N.Y., is a compliance assistant with Jennison Associates, LLC in Manhattan. Her fiance, J. Gregory Knief, is a technician with Hamptons Online, a web development/hosting firm and internet provider in Southampton, N.Y. Stuart I. Grossman was named a partner in the law firm of Burd, Lozano & Zacherl, L.L.P located in Miami, Fla. He practices in the areas of commercial litigation and transactions, aviation litigation and entertainment law. Rachel (Weiss) Handis married Lee Handis on July 1, 2001 at the Hotel Dupont in Wilmington, Del. The couple currently resides in Boothwyn, Pa. Rachel continues to teach first grade in Woodbury, N.J. May was a busy month for Cari Herrmann Abell. After defending her dissertation in late April, Cari took some time off to help her mom finish last-minute details for her May 5 wedding to Tony Abell. Cari writes that the wedding was held at the Harbor Court Hotel in Baltimore's Inner Harbor and was, "according to many of the guests, a total blast complete with the world's longest Hora." Alumni in attendance were Laurie Filippone, Kate Forman, Kris Young, Kara Gebhart and Eve DeVaro. Photo of Cari Herrmann Abell and alums Cari and Tom honeymooned in Alaska for two weeks. The trip included an excursion on the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry and backcountry hiking in Denali National Park. The following weekend, Cari received her Ph.D in physical chemistry/materials science during the University of North Carolina's 2001 commencement. Amy Jeffries is pleased to announce that she and Scott Lintz were engaged on October 20 while enjoying a weekend in the mountains with their families. Amy is the assistant to President Arthur R. Taylor and Scott is an emergency room physician for Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg, PA. They are planning a fall 2002 wedding. Nils Gustaf Stenman of Hanover, Pa., was one of 210 graduates who received a doctor of medicine degree in June from Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Following graduation, Nils began a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital. Jill H. Wonder, a dentist in the U.S. Navy, was deployed on the USS Enterprise in July. A lieutenant, Jill is assistant dental officer on the ship, serving the approximately 5,000 Navy men and women on board. The Enterprise, Jill writes, "is the aircraft carrier used to film 'Top Gun.'" The Enterprise is currently stationed in the Arabian Sea, serving in the war in Afghanistan.
