1932 Dr. Earl J. Trexler passed away at home on Jan. 28, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Fay, and his two children.
1933 James T. Yeager died in the home of his daughter, Kathryn on Jan. 24, 2003.
1934 James A. Angstadt died Jan. 4, 2003, at Seidel Hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pa. He was the husband of the late Florence A. Angstadt.
Arthur J. Simensky died on Dec. 24, 2002.
1940 Robert G. Rockmaker died on Dec. 15 at the Hershey Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Lois.
1941 Merwin S. Woodard died in his residence on Jan. 9, 2003, after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ora.
1943 Daniel D. Orlando passed away March 18, 2001.
1949 On Jan. 7, 2003, James M. Kessock died in St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J. He is survived by his wife Ruth.
Walter K. Smith passed away on Nov. 8, 2002. He is survived by his wife Marion.
John B. Sweeney died in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill, Pa., on Dec. 22, 2002. He was married to Dolores for 43 years.
1950 Earnest A. Turtzo died in his home in Tarpon Springs, Fla., on Dec. 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife Joyce. They were married 55 years.
1951 Donn G. Dutcher died on Nov. 15, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christie. Before retiring in 1989, Donn was director of communications for Western Union Co., Upper Saddle River, N.J., where he worked for 25 years.
Melvin D. Jones
passed away Sept. 22, 2002.
Dr. Theodore Offner passed away on Nov. 5, 2002. He is survived by is wife of 48 years and three sons.
Dr. Fred W. Weiler Jr. died at home on Jan. 4, 2003. He was the husband of the late Jeanne Kaytone Weiler.
1953 It was recently learned that Robert A. Fratto and Dr. John W. Fessman III, both from the Class of 1953, have passed away.
1955 Ronald W. Schlittler passed away in November 2002.
1956 Kenneth L. Posch died in Abington Memorial Hospital on Jan. 7, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue Posch ’59.
1957 Rev. Sherwood F. Haas passed away Nov. 17, 2002.
1958 Alan H. Arsht died at the North Ridge Medical Center in Oakland Park, Fla., on Jan. 28, 2003.
1959 Thomas G. Nader Jr. died in Lehigh Valley Hospital on Dec. 27, 2002. He was married to Penelope for 48 years. He owned Nader Brothers Exxon Service Station in Allentown, Pa., prior to his retirement. He also owned H&M Concessions for seven years.
1961 Joseph A. Duvo died in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital on Jan. 14, 2003. Joseph is survived by his mother and sister.
The College recently learned of the passing of Richard L. Lewis.
1997 Elizabeth Whitner Newman died in her home on Feb. 1, 2003. She was married to Philip Newman.


Joseph Dattoli, who ran the foreign language learning center at Muhlenberg for many years, passed away in May 2002. A recent ‘Berg alum who worked with Joe in the language center said, “Joe was a wonderful man who greeted every student who entered the language lab with a smile. He was a friend to many who walked through those doors.”
